Salisbury businesses to feature in BBC design show
Last week we had the BBC filming in the Cathedral Close for a new adaptation of Great Expectations, and this week Salisbury has another starring role!
In the summer of 2021, three of the city’s independent businesses took part in Interior Design Masters with Alan Carr and their episode will be shown this Wednesday night.
The television competition, which is hosted by comedian Carr, sees ten talented new designers all looking for their big break in the fast-paced world of commercial interior design.
Every week, the designers are set a new commercial design challenge, and this week is the ‘shops’ episode.
Annie’s Just Jane, Brides By Victoria and Casa Fina are the shops that were brave enough to say yes to the competition, with each being given a new makeover by the designers.

Susi Mason, owner of Casa Fina, said: “I was thrilled to be able to be a part of the ‘Shops’ episode in the current series of Interior Design Masters having been a fan of the first two series. The whole experience was nerve wracking but fascinating and once you’ve seen the show you will see whether the designers worked their magic by comparing their finished design with our present displays. None of the shops involved know who won the episode or who was sent home so we’ll be glued to our TV sets on Wednesday.”
All the finished designs will be judged by head-judge Michelle Ogundehin and guest judge Mary Portas. The designer (or designers) who fail to meet the brief, will be sent home.

With over 200 indie businesses here in Salisbury, the show highlights the city’s impressive offer. There is a strong independent retail community and the shops on offer across the city centre create a unique offering you can’t find on other high streets.
